Freudenberg IT Opens New Data Center and Office In North America

Freudenberg IT (FIT), a top-notch organization that provides mission-critical managed hosting services recently made public the inauguration of its new data center and office in Durham, NC. FIT has taken this important step of opening a new office and data center along with hiring competent professionals, to cater the increasing demands for its IT outsourcing, application hosting, as well as its SAP managed hosting services.

“We have been running and hosting SAP systems for over 40 years and we understand the importance of security, data privacy, quality of service, agility, and the service level requirements in support of mission-critical applications,” Michael Heuberger, the President & CEO of FIT said in a statement. “We are at the forefront of the latest IT trends that impact our customers, including cloud computing and big data. As a result, we continue to enhance our mission-critical hosting services portfolio to meet the growing demands of the markets we serve.”

FIT’s newest office and data center are situated in a 30,000 square foot sturdy building on a 13-acre campus in the middle of the Research Triangle Park. The property provides a lot of breadth for future scaling, using FIT’s exceptional modular data center concept, in order to expand the facility. Depending on business growth, FIT can build data centers as independent, reinforced bunkers inside the data center building without having to retrofit or disturb any data center operations going on at the time. It also lets FIT apply the most recent data center technologies by increasing the data center footprint.

Like FIT’s other data centers, this new one utilizes its extremely efficient and robust “Metro Data Center Cluster” and “Bunker-within-a-Bunker” infrastructure designs. It allows customers to obtain mission-critical service levels, high availability, disaster recovery, and data security at the same time. The data center infrastructure is totally “2N” redundant throughout, provides reinforcements for both expected as well as unexpected downtimes without disruption in customer systems. Moreover, FIT’s most well-known cloud platform, FITvFlex also resides in this data center.

“FIT has been and continues to be a trail-blazer in the hosting of mission-critical applications, like SAP, in the cloud. FITvFlex provides our customers with rapid system deployment, application availability and throughput, ongoing technical applications support, and robust data security policies and procedures; all with an improved cost-benefit ratio. Our services have been uniquely engineered from the ground up to specifically deploy and operate mission-critical software applications, like SAP, in the cloud with optimal performance and unbeatable uptimes. The FITvFlex cloud architecture is rapidly becoming the platform choice for our customers, supporting over 40% of our existing customers’ SAP applications, and over 90% of our new customers over the past two years,” explained Todd Kemmerly, SVP of Sales and Marketing.

“This multi-million dollar office and data center expansion reflects the significant growth that we have experienced since we opened our doors in the America’s in 2003. We chose to locate our North American headquarters here in Durham, NC due to its mild climate, availability of power and networking infrastructure, and availability of highly qualified IT personnel drawn in by the many high tech companies and world-class universities located in the area. Best of all, North Carolina offers our employees a great quality of life, and we are very proud that we are able to contribute to the economic development of the area,” Michael Heuberger described.
